PVE for Peace collaborated with CIDEAL- Maroc as part of its project titled “The Culture of Peace” in order to develop a comprehensive practical guide on preventing violent extremism that is specifically for the Moroccan context.
This new guide targets community-based organizations and local public officials in order to develop their capacities in this field and guide them towards adopting a whole of society approach in designing and implementing PCVE programs.
This practical guide provides the reader with all the necessary information concerning preventing violent extremism in Morocco in terms of the conceptual framework, the Moroccan multidimensional strategy, the latest approaches, and the localised push and pull factors that are evidence-based. It also guides the reader in terms of how to engage youth and women in developing PVE programs that are innovative, impact-oriented, and evidence-based while shedding light on the power of strategic communications.
The Preventing Violent Extremism Guide was presented by the Executive Director of PVE of Peace Mr. Hicham El Haddad in a community workshop attended by several community organization in Northern Morocco that had the opportunity to provide their feedback concerning how this manual can be effectively used and influence communities at the local level.
