As part of the project “Supporting the Reintegration and Rehabilitation of Returnees and their Families” implemented by Mohammed Six Foundation for Reintegration and UNDP- Morocco, the Executive Director of PVE for Peace facilitated five trainings about “PVE and the Reintegration of Foreign Fighters and their Families”. The trainings were organized in five regions in Morocco in collaboration with the Regional Centers of Reintegration of the Mohammed Six Foundation and developed the capacities of 50 representatives of civil society organizations that are active in the fields of reintegration, child protection, women empowerment, and psycho-social support.
The two-day workshops, held between June 14 and 29, 2021, aimed to strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations and local communities to effectively contribute to the rehabilitation and reintegration efforts of returnees and their families by providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills related to C / PVE and reintegration approaches, as well as strategic communications to enable the acceptance of the returning women and children by their communities.
While focusing throughout the training on the importance of including the approaches of gender, child protection, and psychosocial support in C/PVE and reintegration efforts, as well as using of strategic communications as a mechanism to raise awareness of these issues, participants had the opportunity to discuss and develop regional action plans that aim at effectively contributing to the rehabilitation and reintegration of target populations within their local communities.
