PVE for Peace facilitated a five-days training on “Community Engagement Techniques to Promote Inclusion and Civic Engagement among Youth” for the benefit of 20 participants representing numerous community-based organizations in the M’diq- Fnideq Region.
The Training was organized by ATIL as part of a four-year program titled “Tolerant Youth” implemented by CIDEAL Foundation and funded by the Spanish Agency for Development and Cooperation.
This comprehensive training aimed at achieving the following objectives:
- Develop the capacities of the participants in youth engagement techniques, participatory democracy, and developing innovative activities.
- Enable the participants to use participatory and evidence-based research to identify relevant and impact-oriented initiatives.
- Improve the capacities of the participants in using strategic communications to influence their target groups through tailored-communication campaigns.
- Guide and mentor the participants in the process of developing communications campaigns in order change the dangerous behaviours of at-risk youth.
These different objectives were achieved through an experiential learning approach that is engaging, innovative, and learner’s centred. The participants learned from one another through various facilitation techniques that enabled them at the end to develop three digital campaigns that are evidence-based and ready for the implementation phase.
The curriculum of this training was customized and based on the needs of the participants and the expertise of PVE for Peace in building PVE digital campaigns that resonate with youth and their interests.
