PVE for Peace, as part of the Strengthening Resilience 2 project in Morocco managed by the British Council with funding from the European Union, supported Albany Associates in their efforts to support the capacity-building of the Centre des Valeurs (CdV), a center of Rabita Mohammadia des Oulémas in Morocco. The project aimed to enhance technical capacities of the center, provide a capacity building program on campaign planning and digital communications, and deliver a Covid-19 digital campaign.
As part of its continuous project management and training support in the course of two years, PVE for Peace played a vital role in achieving the following project deliverables:
- Conducting a stakeholder matrix
- Carrying out a training needs assessment
- Developing an IT manual
- Assisting in the digital transformation of the center
- Conducting capacity building sessions
- Creating and disseminating a Covid-19 Social Media Campaign
- Aiding in the development of an online learning management system
- Producing online communication platforms, including a new website and e-learning platform for the Center
Enabling the CdV to Become a Local Leading Institution in P/CVE Campaigns
One of the key activities undertaken by PVE for Peace was the development and finalization of a Stakeholder Matrix. This matrix was designed to be a comprehensive tool that would guide the CdV team throughout the entire process of campaign development, implementation, and evaluation. It allowed the team to identify and engage with key stakeholders, ensuring that their campaigns were targeted and effective.
Another crucial step was the delivery of a comprehensive Training Needs Assessment (TNA). This assessment was designed to tailor the capacity-building support to the specific needs of the CdV team. The assessment evaluated the team’s familiarity and confidence in subjects related to strategic communications and their technological capacity. It provided valuable insights into the team’s learning objectives and guided the training approach. The results of the TNA were used to structure the training sessions and ensure that participants’ needs were met effectively.
The capacity-building component of the project was also a significant focus. PVE for Peace supported the delivery of online training sessions on “campaign planning” and “digital strategy”, along with 15 online mentorship sessions. These training sessions were conducted in both English and Arabic on Albany Academy’s Learning Management System. The training covered a range of topics, including campaign evaluation, content creation, and strategic communications methodologies. These sessions aimed to equip the CdV team with the necessary skills to develop and implement well-targeted digital campaigns that would support their strategic objectives.
A standout achievement of the project was the creation of a Covid-19 Social Media Campaign. In response to the pandemic, PVE for Peace supported Albany Associates and the CdV team to create a series of posts disseminated on social media platforms. The campaign consisted of educational videos and humorous cartoons that raised awareness about the pandemic. The success of the campaign was evident through the increase in followers and engagement on social media platforms, as well as the positive feedback received.
Additionally, PVE for Peace supported the development of online communication platforms, including a new website for the Center and an interactive e-learning platform. These platforms were designed to maximize the CdV’s impact and reach, providing a space to deliver online training sessions and share resources with stakeholders.
Conclusion
PVE for Peace’s collaboration with Albany Associates in the Strengthening Resilience 2 project played a pivotal role in building the capacity of the CdV and achieving the project’s objectives. Through various activities, from stakeholder engagement to training sessions and the development of online platforms, the project successfully enhanced the CdV’s capabilities and visibility, contributing to international P/CVE efforts.
